Robert “Bob” Purchell

Bob passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home. 

Bob, 83 was born on October 31, 1938, in the town of Middletown, NY. He was the son of Woodrow Purchell and Jean Maticic Purchell.

Bob graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1957. He served in the Marine Corp. from 01/07/1958 to 11/08/1960. He served in the Marine Corp. Reserves until 01/06/1964. He spent most of his life in the surrounding Roxbury/ Grand Gorge/Stamford areas.

He was a carpenter by nature and loved his dogs.

He is survived by his daughters, Leah (Brian) Burgess and Helene (Dean) Hunter, granddaughters, Hailee, Brianna and Ashley.  He is also survived by his sisters, Virginia (Michael) Rockwood, Rose (Thomas) Squires and Marcy Plamondon as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by granddaughter, Emma.

Donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Heart of the Catskill’s Humane Society or to the Stamford Veteran’s Outreach Center.

Funeral services will be private and a graveside service yet to be determined.
