Lucy Sprague

Lucy Sprague, Arkville, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 20, 2023. She was the daughter of Manny and Bessie McCann. Lucy worked in the Resorts Industry as a housekeeper in various locations for many years.

Her many interests included watching birds, chipmunks, butterflies, and her flowers. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, reading, word searches, and Bingo. She loved to make homemade bread. Baking cookies and her grandchildren were among her favorites.

Lucy was predeceased by her husband John, a son Richard, grandson Dale, and son-in-law Gary Lewis. She is survived by her daughters, Mary, Linda, and Dorothy, and a brother George McCann. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lucy will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11am at the Halcottsville Cemetery. Rev. Dykstra will officiate.

In lieu of any flowers, at the family’s request, a donation may be made to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, Delhi, NY in Lucy’s memory.
