Robert L. Dwyer

It is with great sadness that the family of Robert L. Dwyer announces his passing. A brilliant, witty, fun, caring man who loved his family and friends and had a passion for many things, Bob passed away at home in Margaretville, NY on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019.

Bob was born in 1942 in Queens, NY to the late Lester and Catherine Dwyer. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; camping, listening to Pink Floyd, spending time on his property and vacationing in Florida. From his days working on transmissions in Farmingdale, NY to working at the Margaretville Central School District and Delaware Opportunities, he enjoyed working with people.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Sally, his son Bobby, daughters Denise Hunt (Ed) and Cheryl Bent, and stepsons Matthew (Erin), Maxwell (Lindsey) and Mitchell (Stephanie). Bob will also be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Trevor, Samantha, Brandon, Maddison, Ainsley, Jacob, Grace, Remy, Rex and several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his brother Richard.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hynes Funeral Home in Margaretville, followed by a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Gregory Weider as celebrant. Following the service friends and family will gather at the Arkville Fire Hall to celebrate Bob’s life. 

Committal prayers will be held in the spring at the Margaretville cemetery. Donations in Memory of Robert Dwyer can be made to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society in Delhi.
