Julia (Judy) Hammond

Julia  (Judy) Hammond, age 79, life long resident of Denver, New York, died Saturday February 23, 2019 at Stamford, New York

She was born  in Denver, New York on August 4, 1939, the daughter of Charles and Ethel (Allen) German. Early in her life she went to  live with Howard and Lena Greene.  Judy married James M. Hammond on  August 2, 1958.

She graduated from Roxbury Central School in 1957 and then attended Edwards Beauty School in Oneonta, New York.

Judy  for many years owned the Mid Valley  Salon where she did her hairdressing business. She spent several  years working at the Kirkside Adult  Home assisting the residents with activities  and also doing hairdressing for the residents. She loved to crochet  making items for family and friends. Judy was a member of the Roxbury Senior Citizens  Club.

Surviving are her husband , James M. Hammond, daughter and son in law Penny & David Purchell,  she loved and adorned her  4 grandsons and 1 great grandson , and also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, brothers, Claude, Reuben, , Harold(Jason), Bruce, Charles, Elmer and sister Bertha.

Calling hours will be held at the Miller Funeral Home, Roxbury, New York on Friday March 1, 2019 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm when a service will be held.

Committal prayers will be held in the Spring at Vega Cemetery, Denver, New York.
