Todd J. Hinkley
Todd James Hinkley, 56, from Roxbury NY, passed away on February 27th, 2021 at Albany Medical Center in the arms of loved ones. Born in San Diego, California to Ella May Van Valkenburg and Larry Hinkley, Todd and his family moved to New York when he was a child and started a life in Middleburg, NY. As a teenager, Todd moved to Roxbury, NY to live with his grandparents, James and Elna Hinkley, who loved and raised him. There, Todd developed lifelong friendships, fine-tuned his mechanical abilities, and started a family of his own. In his younger days, Todd enjoyed working on anything with an engine, riding snowmobiles and three wheelers, collecting vehicles, and drinking a cold beer with friends. You could typically recognize Todd wearing his Carhartt overalls, a worn out trucker hat, and holding a can of Genny in his grease-stained hand with a shop rag in his back pocket. He was hardworking, loyal, and would always help a friend in need. Though much of his final years were consumed by hospital stays and dialysis treatments due to Kidney Disease, Todd made an effort to maintain his hardworking lifestyle and tried to keep his condition under wraps. His pride and joy was his daughter Savannah with his newest love being his 5 year old granddaughter, Ellie. Ellie and her Papa packed in as many memories as possible in their 5 short years together and he will be in her heart forever. Todd is survived by his Grandmothers Elna Hinkley and Doris Van Valkenburg, Daughter Savannah Fischer (Brad), Granddaughter Ellie Fischer, Brothers Tony Hinkley (Celeste) and Anthony Iacovelli (Kathy), Sister Dana Buzon-Tague (Chris), Aunt Karen Kay (Hinkley) Hanor including multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his Mother and Father, Ella May Van Valkenburg and Larry Hinkley, and his Grandfathers, James Hinkley and Ron Van Valkenburg. A memorial celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of charity donations or flowers, a simple letter, card, greeting, or phone call to his Grandmother Elna Hinkley, is appreciated.
