Thomas Edwin Maulik of Margaretville and Newburgh NY passed away peacefully after a tough year of health issues on Sept 12, 2023. Thomas was born in Margaretville Hospital on May 28, 1943, to Edwin and Lillian Maulik. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christine (Conklin), his son Lee Thomas Maulik(Mickel) and two daughters, Lucy Vesely(Arthur) and Lory Maulik(John Marron). He leaves behind three granddaughters, Emma Mattice(Cody), Heidi and Stella Vesely, and two Great granddaughters, Mia and Lillian Mattice. Also surviving Thomas are his sister in law Kim Bohan and husband Mick and brother in law Dennis Conklin and Joann Haigh.

Thomas served honorably in the United States Air Force before becoming a proficient heavy equipment operator (especially bulldozer) for Operating Engineers Local 825 and later a Professional truck driver for Mclean, Yellow, Smith and Roadway companies for many more years. He and his wife enjoyed Nascar racing, even attending Dale Earnhardt Jr's final race at Talladega, AL in 2017. He also loved garden tractor pulling at Orange County Farmer's Museum, where he won many Blue ribbons. He was also not afraid to tackle new technology even at the age of 80.

Calling hours will be from 11am-1pm on Sunday Sept. 17 at Hynes Funeral Home in Margaretville NY, followed by a light repast from 1-3 at the Margaretville Fire Hall.

A special thank you to all the Doctor's, Nurse's, Aides and especially the Rehabilitation staff who kept him mobile and able to live at home this last year.
