Sharon A. Dumond
Sharon Ann DuMond, 79 of Roxbury passed away peacefully on September 11th, 2023 at O’Connor Hospital in Delhi NY after a month long battle with her health.
Sharon worked at audio sears in Stamford NY for over 49 years before she retired. Sharon never missed a sporting event, horse show, or school function that included the grand and great grandchildren. She was one who enjoyed sitting on the porch on a warm summer day reading a book and listening to ole time country, and In the winter, you could find her in her chair in the living room doing a puzzle or playing a game on her phone. She was an avid member of the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed church and enjoyed a Sunday sermon with Reverend Dykstra.
She was married to and predeceased by her husband of 53 years Gary DuMond, her daughter Donna Houghton, sisters Sheryl Hoagland, Sheila Burdick, and Janice Sutton. brother John Butdick, granddaughter Valarie DuMond and nephews Bruce Sutton and Ed Sutton Jr.
Sharon is survived by many including two sons David and Daniel DuMond. Her grandchildren whom she loved whole heartedly, Kelly King, Jeremy (Heather) Cronk, David (Florence) Carr, Tiffany DuMond, Brittany (Nathan) Depietro, Gary DuMond, Jessica (Jesse) Watson, and Aaron DuMond. Her great grandchildren, the ones who made her heart whole, Lena, David, Sophia, and Haven. She is also survived by her siblings Sherry Martin, Howard Burdick, and Charlotte Burdick. Additional “family” whom were very special to and who Sharon grew to love and treat as her own grandchildren include Tracy Peters, Sidney, Garret, Taylor (and families), Stephanie, Justice, Julianna, Rappy, and Izzy. Additionally, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday September 13th from 4pm-7pm at Miller Funeral Home in Roxbury. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11am at the Jay Gould Memorial Reformed Church in Roxbury followed by graveside committal services at the Bedell Cemetery in Fleischmanns.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jay Gould Memorial Reform Church in Sharon’s name.
