Joseph A. Brybag
Joseph (Joe) Albert Brybag, born January 19th, 1976 passed away peacefully at his home in Fleischmanns, NY on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Samantha Brybag, his four children: Nicole, Katie, Joey, and Robby, siblings: Patricia McCann (Frank), Ilse Ciprich (Randy), Lillian Postma (Leslie), Errol Brybag (Stephanie), William Brybag (Erika), and close brother in law Ronald Vignapiano, loving mother in law Diane Griffin, and sister in law Kristin Griffin, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his loving parents: Willem and Elfriede Brybag, his sisters: Rieke Guercio and Anneke Vignapiano, and his father-in-law; Robert Griffin. Joe spent his childhood living in Brooklyn where he enjoyed playing football with his friends, and nephews. He moved to the Catskills when he was sixteen and attended Margaretville Central School where he quickly took up fishing, hiking, and camping. His love for fishing grew as large as his love for his family and his cars. If you could not find him at home working on or washing his car, he could almost always be found fishing the Pepacton reservoir or going on walks with his family at various campgrounds and the trails at Belleayre Mountain. Joe loved taking his family camping every summer as he called them “disconnect days” at Mongaup Pond or North Lake Campground. Joe always enjoyed a relaxing end to his day of sitting outside with his wife, kids, and dog at a campfire with a Heineken or Sam Adams Oktoberfest, filling the swimming pool with glow sticks, and going for a swim. Joe was extremely proud of his Dutch heritage and made it part of his personality. His children and wife became his best friends and putting family first was always at the forefront of his mind. Once his children became active in sports and various activities, his children could always expect to see him at their games and school events. At every party Joe threw you knew you could always find him next to the barbeque making his famous barbeque chicken and quesadillas. Joe was and forever will be a proud man with a multitude of accomplishments from graduating on the Dean's List from SUNY Delhi earning his Associate’s Degree in Electrical, to starting his own successful business, Connect Electric.
