Gavyn S. Bryan
In loving memory of Gavyn Stone Bryan (August 9th, 2002 – August 7th, 2023)
On the evening of Monday, August 7th, 2023, Gavyn Stone Bryan passed away, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved son, brother, and grandson, and a cherished nephew, cousin, and friend. Gavyn was born on August 9th, 2002, in Oneonta, NY, the first-born child of Brenten Bryan and Helen Parks. Gavyn lived in New York State his entire life, primarily South Kortright and Davenport. To those closest to him, Gavyn will be remembered for his free spirit, his creativity, and his wildly naïve yet ambitious side. He was an extraordinary athlete and dare devil, a gifted artist and poetic master of words, a lover of the outdoors including all of Mother Nature’s little creatures, and a gentle soul who lived and loved with his humble yet enormous heart on his sleeve. The impact that Gavyn had on his family, his friends, and all who were fortunate enough to be touched by him, is immeasurable.
Gavyn is survived by his mother, Helen Parks of Grand Gorge, his father and stepmother, Brenten Bryan and Elizabeth Wagner-Bryan of South Kortright, as well as his three younger siblings: Kaylee Bryan, Lucas Parks, and AnnaLise Beers. He is also survived by his significant other, Emma Elmore of Hancock, his paternal grandparents, William and Patricia Palmer of Hobart and Randy Bryan of Arizona, in addition to countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and a community of friends, teachers, coaches, extended families, and neighbors who’s lives will be forever changed given this unimaginable loss.
The family has chosen to forego a public memorial. However, there will be a privately held Celebration of Life for Gavyn’s family and closest of friends in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family asks those wishing to honor and remember Gavyn to make donations in support of Emma and Gavyn’s unborn little girl, (link to be shared at a later date via social media).
