William Z. Judisky

William Zigmund Judisky, age 70, returned to his heavenly home on February 1, 2021.  He was born August 29, 1950 in Yonkers NY.  He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Judisky; brother, Raymond (Mary) Judisky; children Karla (Michael) McDowell, Michelle Turek, Shannon Judisky, Mathew Carr and Joseph (Maren) Russell; Grandchildren Shiloh Turek, Isaiah Turek, Diana Caldwell, Destiny Russell, Mason McDowell, Roman Turek, and Joseph Russell V;  and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents William and Helen (Aperones) Judisky; and previous wife, Kathleen (Felpel) Judisky.

Breaking records at his birth, Bill was known for his size and strength and was affectionately called “Lurch” by some of his friends.  He was a generous man who would assist anyone in need.  He had a hug ready for everyone he met, would assist any stranded motorist, and had a pen ready on his lanyard if you needed it.  His love of his family was second only to his love of the Lord Jesus Christ.  He was an active member of several churches throughout his life, and contributed to the music ministry with his love of percussion and guitar.

He was a dedicated employee of MetroNorth from where he retired after 40 years of service.

He never missed an opportunity to tell a “Dad” joke and would roar at the punchline which added to the hilarity of the moment.  He had his own sense of style and many, many people asked if he was cold - wearing shorts and a light jacket in winter.  When he was younger, he pursued his love of music with being in several bands including one with his brother where he excelled as a drummer; and since continued making music with any tabletop item.  He was a very forgiving individual and would still accept you, even if you were not a Yankee’s or a Giant’s fan.  Many a night, you could find him tinkering in the backyard garage with countless projects that he had started or that he was planning on starting.  His love of auto mechanics was fostered from his father and uncle to the benefit of his children and friends who relied on his knowledge of car maintenance.  He took every opportunity to make a memory and to be present-as that is the greatest gift that can be given.  He will be truly missed, but his love will remain within us.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later time. In lieu of Flowers, gifts in his memory can be made to Andes United Methodist Church, PO Box 519 Andes, NY 13731.
