Karl A. Soderback

Karl A. Soderback 57, of Laurel, Delaware decided to change his office view on January 31, 2023. He shifted gears, put the pedal to the metal, and drove his big rig off into the sunrise.

Born September 10, 1965, in Margaretville, New York to Karl S. and Jane C. Beers Soderback. He attended Andes Central School.

In his younger years, Karl worked Ski Patrol at Hunter Mountain, an EMT for Margaretville Hospital, and was a member of Arkville Fire Department. In 1999 he relocated to Delaware.  For the past 9 years he drove an auto carrier for Auto Express Transport Inc. traveling up and down the east coast.

His enjoyment of fast cars and motorcycles was evident from a young age.  The love affair with motorcycles never ended and you would often find him riding down a country road with his buddy Bob.  He enjoyed spending time with both his friends and family.  But his greatest joys came from his daughter Cassie and from reconnecting with his daughter Emily.

Karl is survived by his mother Jane Soderback, a resident at Mountainside Care Center in Margaretville. Wife Brandi (Phippin) Soderback, Daughter Cassidy Soderback, and stepdaughter Marissa Phippin all of Laurel, Delaware.  Eldest daughter Emily Noe of Portsmouth, Virginia. Brothers Scott (Karen) of Arkville, Richard and Gary of Andes. Sister Jane (Wayne) Freer of Esopus. Nephews Jack, Joseph, and Matthew. Nieces Victoria and Katelyn. Several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins survive.

Predeceased by his father Karl, brother John, and nephew Jordan.

A memorial service will be held at Hynes Funeral Home 48 Walnut Street Margaretville, New York Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 1-4 pm. Burial will be in spring at the convenience of the family.
