Jean Dorothy Johnson

Jean, 85 years old, of Grand Gorge passed away peacefully at her home on Mothers Day May 12, 2024. Born October 12, 1938 in Santa Clara, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Roger Peter Johnson. She was also predeceased by her 10 siblings, most of whom resided near St. Regis Falls, NY. She was a loving mother to five children, Judy Johnson-Hubacheck and husband Stephen of Buzzards Bay, MA, Joy Johnson of Grand Gorge, Jeffery Johnson and wife Vestie of Grand Gorge, Roger Johnson and wife Jennifer of Coral Springs, FL, and Julie Johnson of Okinawa, Japan. She was predeceased by three children, Thomas Peter, Tina Marie Poppleton, and Timothy Mark Johnson. She is survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of the Grand Gorge United Methodist, for many years running the food closet and thrift store. She was also a member of the Eastern Stars. She spent many years as a caring and nurturing home health aide.

She was known fo rher compassion, empathy, and kindness in her community. The Johnson household was known by all in Grand Gorge as a place of love and safety. She was strong and stubborn, once quietly rebelling against a road sogn on her lawn by planting flowers around it. She had a great spirit, loved to laugh and will be missed by anyone fortunate enough to make her acquaintance. Many thanks to all the special caregivers with Helios who were exceptional. There will be no services.
