Carl Seemer
On July 7th, 2021, after 73 years, Carl Seemer was called home to be with his Father John, his mother Jane and his brothers Michael and John, in heaven. He passed away with his wife and best friend, Darlene, at his side.
In life he was many things – husband, father, grandfather, devoted son, loving brother. He was also an entrepreneur and self-made businessman. He also liked being an amateur landscaper, homebuilder, lumberjack and professional vacationer (a skill he truly mastered).
He was tough as nails and had the mentality of a drill instructor, his family being his ever ready, albeit often reluctant, foot soldiers. He turned sarcasm into an art form but always made us laugh. He lived his life according to the Frank Sinatra code and as the song says, did things “his way.” But he had a good heart and loved his family, even if he tended to show it in his own unique way. He was truly larger than life and the hole he has left in our hearts is equally large and will never be filled. We love him and miss him every day.
He is survived by his loving wife Darlene, his son John and his wife Tina; his son Karl and his wife Annette; and his daughter Christine and her husband James. Also his grandchildren Marc, Giuliana, Cristian, Amanda, Jacob, Luna, Dani and James. He is also survived by his brother Anthony, his sister Bernadette and his many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 12pm-4pm with a prayer service at 2pm at Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville, NY., Saturday July 17, 2021. Father Weider will be officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday July 17, 2021 from 12 noon until 4pm. A memorial prayer service will be conducted at 2pm with Father Weider officiating.
