Beverly Jane Banks

Beverly Jane Banks (Decker), 82 of Margaretville went hoe to be with the Lord on Saturday July 13,2024. She was a resident of Mountainside Residential Care Center for about 2 years.

Beverly was born January 1, 1943 at the Margaretville Hospital. She was the daughter of the late George and Helen (York) Decker.

She was predeceased by her husband Lester Banks, siblings, Robert Decker, Irene Decker, Betty Little, Shirley Mead and Mary Lou Moore.

Beverly is survived by her brother William York of Michigan, sister Marie Mead of Schenectady and Jeffrey Ormiston of Grand Gorge. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews and her step-daughter Susan Banks.

Beverly graduated from Margaretville Central School in 1961. She was a cheerleader and won an award for Public Speaking. Several years following graduation, she completed a Manpower (Business) course in Kingston and worked for Social Security. Bev moved back to Margaretville where she met her husband, Lester Banks and married him May 1969. She then worked for Margaretville Memorial Hospital from August 31, 1998 through June 24, 2004 as a secretary/clerk.

After the passing of her husband, she moved to senior housing in Delhi for about 10 years. In 2017, she moved to Schenectady to be near her sister Marie.

Beverly took up her cross and was a follower of Jesus. She loved the Lord and has read the bible many times.

She was also quite the artist. She was very intelligent and always researching something on the computer.

Beverly’s burial will be held at the Clovesville Cemetery, Fleischmanns, NY on Monday July 29, 2024 at 11 a.m. She will be buried alongside of her husband and parents.
