Anna Marie Carli
Anna Marie Carli, a longtime resident of Margaretville New York, passed peacefully and returned to her heavenly home on October 7th 2020 at the age of 88.
Anna is survived by three generations of Niece’s and Nephew’s. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Carli on March 20, 2000. Aside from her immediate family, Anna was blessed to also be surrounded by many friends and loved ones Anna was born to the late Italo and Mary Marsico on September 5, 1932. She married Joseph Carli on March 25, 1951 at the Catholic Church in Arkville, NY. Passionate about helping others, Anna graduated from The University of the State of New York in 1954 as a Licensed Practicing Nurse and was employed by Margaretville Hospital until she retired. Anna always spoke fondly of the work she accomplished at the hospital, including assisting in the births of several children.
Aside from her work as a nurse in Margaretville, she also participated in numerous local groups including the Margaretville Auxiliary, The Woman’s Society of the Catskills, and as a volunteer at the Margaretville Hospital Thrift Shop. Anna also was very active at American Legion Post #216 for Bingo nights. Those who knew Anna would agree she was always excited to visit with friends and family. She was an incredible historian and enjoyed sharing stories about her family, her community and festivities from days gone by. Some of her hobbies included singing, snowmobiling, afternoons at the family camp, and decorating. She was a wonderful baker and was known to make one of the family’s favorite holiday cookies each year. Most notably, Anna had an unwavering faith in God and found comfort in each service she attended. Anna’s colorful personality and unique nature will be deeply missed.
